WE WERE SO EXCITED TO HAVE THIS FIRST SQRIES EVENT BE SUCH AN AMAZING HIT! IT JUST PROVES THAT OUR MISSION TO BRING THE FASHION COMMUNITY TOGETHER IS A SUCCESS. I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HOW MANY INDUSTRY INSIDERS SHOWED UP...
As far as the name of our SQries events go, everyone knows by now, we love to have a little fun over here at Brand Assembly! The name was a group effort during one of our weekly touch base meetings. We wanted something with a slight sense of humor that also incorporated “square” as in the Brand Assembly Square and also as in a meeting place. We intend for this to be a “series” of talks that everyone will want to come back for!
For our first event we assembled a panel that focused on brand-building in the digital age. I am always learning to create a manageable work/life balance, and our speaker Marissa Smith from NYLON really resonated with me - especially with her comments about putting things in perspective. But since this was a digital panel, I really liked hearing that direct messaging was an acceptable way to communicate with industry insiders; as well as the advice of having very clear brand messaging, especially on a website!
I feel that the tech world is creating easy and engaging ways for brands and fashion entrepreneurs to create their own community. Not being 100% digitally savvy myself, I am always leaning on our young(er) employees for what is trending. It is a big focus for us to build up our following and really have clear messaging across all channels. I think that one of the most important things, as mentioned at the panel, is to have a clear and concise website. I love platforms like Shopify and Squarespace that have very clean options to start with for brands. They look professional, but do not break the bank! Generally speaking, we have LOTS of tech ideas for apps to also further what we do on the logistics and operations side of our business, but also the tradeshow and Square components too. You will just have to wait and see!
