#SQries Recap: Brand Building In The Digital Age
EVERYDAY WE ARE EXCITED TO CONTINUE ASSEMBLING OUR GROWING COMMUNITY OF TALENTED EMERGING AND CONTEMPORARY FASHION DESIGNERS. WE'VE BEEN SHARING THEIR STORIES HERE ON THE ASSEMBLIST AND AS AN EXTENSION OF THIS, LAST WEEK WE HELD OUR KICKOFF #SQRIES (OUR PLAY OFF OF "SERIES") EVENT, HERE AT THE BRAND ASSEMBLY SQUARE.
We partnered with The Style Line to put together a panel of industry leaders, digital tastemakers, and all around inspiring women who shed light on how technology is impacting the fashion industry. The discussion was moderated by our very own co-founder and CEO Hillary France, and The Style Line's founder and CEO Rachel Schwartzmann. Our roster of esteemed speakers included media veteran and former Editor-In-Chief of Seventeen Magazine Ann Shoket, Marissa Smith of NYLON, Rachel Fletcherof Tictail, and celebrity wardrobe stylist, Sarah Slutsky.
With our community of designers in mind, our goal was to cultivate an honest discussion around what tools emerging designers should have in their arsenal as they grow their business. Key points from our discussion touched on the relationship between fashion and technology, go-to apps, social networks and digital platforms, and general best practices that all emerging designers should know. In short: Instagram and email are everything - and if you ask Ann Shoket, Fresh Direct is high up on the list too!
Though with all of the technical talk aside, we were honestly just so excited to have such a fun group (this includes both our speakers and attendees!) come together to learn, share, and connect. All of these ideas are the motivation behind The Brand Assembly Square, and we're excited to put on more events at the space all year long. In the meantime (and in case you weren't able to join us), we'll be sharing more stories here on The Assemblist that further touch on topics from the panel.
